Undisturbed Buffer

A protected portion of a lot set aside for open space and/or visual screening purposes. Undisturbed Buffers help separate different use districts, or to separate one property from another property.

Undisturbed Buffers may not be graded. They must be fully protected, keeping all vegetation and trees as-is. Typically, the only vegetation that can be removed is invasive plants, such as bamboo and english ivy. In some cases, it is acceptable to add additional vegetation or trees to an undisturbed buffer, but nothing can be removed.

Alternately, traditional buffers can usually be graded and vegetation and trees removed.
